Job Responsibilities

As a BVC nurse, you will work in a family center consisting of a midwifery clinic, child health center, open preschool, and family support. The work involves close collaboration with the family center, and we conduct joint home visits as well as provide extra support to families in need. The role of the BVC nurse includes preventive health checks, developmental assessments, vaccinations according to the child health care's basic program, and home visits to all newborns. You will work both independently and as part of a team with other staff categories at the health center. Närvården Bäckby-Råby is a developing unit where employees actively participate, and BVC nurses are an important part of that work.

About the Workplace

The 12 region-operated health centers in Västmanland, as well as the health centers' emergency clinics in Västmanland, are run as an intrapreneurship with a board and Region Västmanland as the owner. Närvården Bäckby-Råby is a growing health center with a branch in Råby. We are responsible for over 11,400 registered patients, and our unit includes medical and district nurse clinics, several types of specialist clinics, maternal and child health care, as well as a rehabilitation unit with physiotherapists and social workers. Great emphasis is placed on preventive work, and we also offer assistance with risk use and addiction issues. Long-term planning for continuity and stability for patients, where our rehabilitation coordinator is an important part of the team to help patients move on to meaningful lives as much as possible.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse with further education as a district nurse or specialist training in health care for children and adolescents. We seek someone with experience working in BVC and training in EPDS, hearing tests, language, and communication. If you also have MI training and are a trained parent group leader, it is an advantage. Preferably, you have experience with the Cosmic journal system that we use in our daily work. You also master the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

We are looking for someone who is professional and empathetic and always provides respectful treatment to both children and parents as well as colleagues. You work well in a team, are process-oriented, and have a positive attitude towards contributing to the development work of the organization.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Employment Conditions

The position is a full-time temporary position for one year, from March 2026 to April 2027. Start date according to agreement.
